Read On! System Requirements
Minimum system requirements for the LAN version of Read On! are:
Server for Microsoft® Windows®
- Windows operating systems versions 2000 or 2003 Server
- Pentium 4 class processor or compatible
- 1 GB free RAM or more
- 6 GB of available space on hard disc
- Network speed 10 Mbps. (100 Mbps. is recommended)
- TCP/IP connection
Server for Novell NetWare® 6.5
- Novell NetWare operating system version 6.5*
- Pentium 4 class processor or compatible
- 2 GB free RAM is required for Read On!**
- 6 GB of available free space on hard disc (3 GB must be available for temporary storage on the SYS volume during installation. The Read On! program and database files will comprise 3 GB and can be installed to a different NSS volume).
- Network speed 10 Mbps. (100 Mbps. is recommended)
- TCP/IP connection
* Read On! requires Netware 6.5. Previous versions of NetWare will need to be upgraded to Netware 6.5 for Read On! to function.
** If other programs are running on the same server as Read On!, additional RAM will be needed to run the other programs.
Microsoft Windows Client Workstations
- Windows operating system versions 2000 or XP
- Pentium 3 class processor or compatible operating at 933 MHz or higher
- 256 MB RAM or more
- 60 MB of available space on hard disk
- SVGA Monitor, 16-Bit Color or greater, with resolution set to 800x600 or greater
- Headphones
- CD-ROM drive for installation
- TCP/IP connection
- Flash 7.0.19 (will be installed by Read On! if needed)
- Javascript enabled (will be enabled by Read On! if needed)
- DeskJet/LaserJet quality printer for printing reports
Windows Browser Requirements
Even though they will not be connected through the Internet, client workstations will need a browser to run the program.
- Internet Explorer® (IE) 6 or higher
Notes:
- Each operating system requires the latest service packs.
- As with any client/server application, Read On! will run more smoothly on a system that has substantially more RAM and processor speed.
